Little Stars!!

Big Growth Starts Small

Little Stars helps young children build the habits and movement foundations they need for karate—and for life. Through clear expectations, age-appropriate challenges, and positive encouragement, students grow in listening, discipline, confidence, and personal safety.

  • Structured for ages 4–7, not simply a shortened older-child class
  • Character and behavior are part of advancement
  • Belts are earned over time, with new challenges along the way

Listening & Discipline

Movement Foundations

Balance, coordination, posture, and purposeful movement.

Healthy Confidence

Trying hard things without learning aggression.

Personal Safety

Using S.T.A.R.S for Self Defense – Stay away from danger. Talk it out. Ask for help. Retreat. Subdue.

Designed for How Young Children Learn

Little Stars is not a faster or easier belt track. It is a thoughtful beginning to the same long-term karate journey, built around the developmental needs of children ages 4–7.

Core Values Instilled in Class

Humility, respect, discipline, perseverance, and self-control are practiced through the expectations of every class.

Disciplined Without Rushing

We challenge the young students need time and training to learn self control. We use Kata (the sequence of moves) to keep them engaged and disciplined.

Building Core Movement Skills

Students build balance, coordination, stance, posture, and body awareness, preparing them for complex movements as they grow up.

Positive Empowerment

Children receive positive support, clear boundaries, and meaningful challenges. Progress is celebrated because it is earned.

Character Growth You Can See

We work with parents to choose a behavior challenge that matters for their child. It may focus on classroom participation, listening at home, or showing greater respect and responsibility.

This turns values into something children practice—not just something adults talk about. When the agreed change is demonstrated, it becomes part of the student’s advancement toward testing.

The third stripe represents demonstrated behavioral growth. It is earned through progress that can be seen in class, at home, or at school.

  • Raise a hand before speaking in class.
  • Respond respectfully to parents and teachers.
  • Listen to and follow directions more consistently.
  • Recover calmly after frustration or disappointment.
  • Keep hands controlled and respect other people’s space.

Staying Safe Without Fists

Little Stars connects with our STARS for Safety approach. Children learn that protecting themselves begins with awareness, communication, seeking help, and creating distance. Physical action is the last step—not the first.

  • Awareness: notice what is happening and recognize when something feels unsafe.
  • Voice: communicate clearly, set a boundary, and call for help.
  • Movement: create distance, maintain balance, and move toward safety.
  • Control: learn safe fundamentals for common grabs and holds without depending only on kicks and punches.Raise a hand before speaking in class.
